Stage 1: Questioning   Identify a topic area for inquiry.  Develop an inquiry plan.

Stage 2:  Gathering     Locate and retrieve good resources from a variety of sources.

Stage 3:  Recording     Select, process and record relevant data.

Stage 4:  Organizing    Sort and sift the information. Make connections and inferences. Plan how you will present your information.

Stage 5:  Reporting    Present the information according to the assignment’s directions.  Be sure to document your sources appropriately.
